Ashley Gray

Ashley Gray is a digital and conceptual artist based in Greater London, known for creating evocative digital environments that explore emotion, memory, and the unseen tensions of human experience. Blending 3D construction with painterly 2D layering, Gray’s practice resides at the intersection of precision and feeling, where rendered worlds meet imagination. His work invites viewers to engage with moments both before and after lived experience, capturing atmospheres of realization and introspection.

Born in 1986 and having lived in Greater London all his life, Gray holds a master’s degree in computer games art, yet his artistic voice emerges not from technical mastery alone but from a deep engagement with ideas and emotional resonance. Over years of independent digital art practice, his work has been showcased internationally online and recognised by platforms such as CGSociety and Creativepool, among others.

My art emerges from the tension between what we feel and what the universe seems to ignore. I work digitally, sculpting immersive environments in 3D before moving into 2D layers of paint and texture, blending the rendered with the imagined.

I am drawn to the narratives that unfold in moments of transition, just before something happens, or just after it has ended. My work doesn’t dictate a story, but opens a space for viewers to bring their own emotions and interpretations.

Though many of my images explore darker themes, at their core they are about love, understanding, and the shared experience of being human. My intention is that each piece resonates not just visually, but emotionally, drawing viewers into an inner dialogue with the work.
