Carolin Rechberg, born in Starnberg, Germany, is a female artist specializing in the importance of cognitive and sensory learning, initiated through the encounter of the artistic process.

After specializing in Art and Design, in the IGCSE and IB, at the Munich International School, she continued her international education in the United States. Since then, she has attained an Individualized BFA from the California College of the Arts, an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, and an M.Ed. in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Throughout her Education, Rechberg intentionally studied a wide array of interdisciplinary disciplines of art, art history, crafts and critical theory to compose a large original body of work. Rechberg has taught Drawing and Painting as a Teaching Assistant in her 1st Master at the San Francisco Art Institute, and Etching, Lithography, Silkscreen and Woodcut during her 2nd Master at Teachers College. Simultaneously to completing her education she managed the Printmaking Studios and held open-studio hours, facilitating individual instruction.

Additionally, to establishing a career as an artist, she has gaining experiences as a businesswoman, through her company CR Art and Design Inc, founded in Manhattan, offering fine art sales and services, inspired by her own arsenal and stylistic palette of artwork, to design and produce aesthetic products. Recently Rechberg returned to Europe to focus on artmaking and is currently building a new studio in Murnau am Staffelsee.

Carolin Rechberg has exhibited in Solo and Group Exhibitions, in America, Europe and Asia. Her work has been published in printed and online literature in the United States and Europe, such as; Vogue, World of Interiors, House & Garden, Wired Magazine, Tatler, Hidden Treasures Art Magazine, Inspiration Art Book, International Contemporary Masters XI, or Contemporary Art of Excellence. She was selected as an artist in residence by the AICAD Exchange program for the New York School of Visual Art Residency in 2011, in 2016 as artist in residence for the Lucid Art Foundation, and in 2017 for the Centro de Art de Curaumilla, Chile.

Carolin Rechberg’s interdisciplinary body of work comprises of drawing, installation, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, writing or voice work. As a performance artist Rechberg fuses her artistic practice with sonic voice-work.

Emoting, speaking out from within when creating. The Art process is a ritual, a celebration of life, of presence, of nature. It is a means to arrive in the moment and communicate with the is-ness of being.

The art process and resulting materialized natural and composed mark of presence, reflecting and responding to the evolution of gathered experiences.Art is a meditation on and off being.

The senses become a portal to ground in the present moment. Raising one’s conscience, through sensual perception and feeling.

The gesture and observations of color, composition, pattern, rhythm, structure, texture and tone, and ensuing realizations nurturing an approach to existence, I harness to transfer into living.

It is a dance of allowing the work to create itself, and to simply become the guiding vehicle.Unique in themselves, the artworks become their own entities, signifying information, calling for an individual aesthetic encounter with the environment.
