Evan B. Siegel was born in New York City and always had a love for the natural world. He embarked on the parallel tracks of learning photography and capturing images, along with his formal education in the sciences. He continues to work in his chosen biomedical field while studying photography from a number of the masters of portraiture, fine art and nature, and shooting wherever and whenever he can, worldwide. He has sold a large number of NFTs of his work. Photography is becoming more and more his concentration of interest and creative outlet, and shoots with Fujifilm GFX 100II equipment. He opened his photography business, Coastal Images, in 1996.
The interplay of light and shadow, color and monochrome elements has always been fascinating to me. I carry my training and personal experience in playing with these contrasting elements into all of my photography whether landscape or wildlife, fashion or portraiture, fine art or abstract, street or event. No matter how sophisticated AI may become in both image capture and post-processing, the essential human-directed finalization of the image is most critical to me.
