Born in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha / Spain. His roots are deeply rooted in a land rich in literary and artistic heritage, famous for being the setting of Don Quixote. He completed his university studies in Madrid. Industrial Engineer, Master (Magister) in Sport Management and Direction by the Olympic University Institute (COE and Complutense University of Madrid). European Diploma in Strategic Planning. Inventor. National Tennis Coach and creator/performer of a pedagogical record of Dance-Tennis. Diploma in Graphic Design, Advertising Production and Professional Web Design.
He has worked in direction and management in public and private companies, also, in advertising, design, organization of big events; Davis Cup, Federation Cup, Exhibitions...etc. The professional and artistic activity of his family, for several generations, has influenced since his childhood in his facet in the art world.
The multidisciplinary influence of his professional activities; in sports, music, engineering, inventions and art, both in Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid, was decisive for the creation, within the art world, of a very personal and different style, which has been called Rivismo, based on the application of Experiential Brushstrokes. Since 2005, he has been carrying out continuous research work to reinforce the Concepts and Philosophy that predominate in Rivismo and that have given prominence to material elements to which he has assigned aspects, functions and values of human beings.
With this solid artistic foundation, Ramón Rivas expresses his imagination and creativity by participating in international exhibitions, art publications of all kinds, and interviews. His contribution to the world of contemporary art is being richly rewarded with magnificent results, endorsed by excellent reviews from prestigious professionals and numerous international awards.
His work has a marked personal stamp. He uses his creativity to be different and seek new artistic proposals that surprise and excite. His vivid imagination is fundamental to developing creative, innovative works that interact positively with the viewer's gaze. His way of working is orderly and methodical. He supervises the proper execution, incorporates scientific themes, balances the composition, and makes the painting a walkable space for the viewer.
In his personal style, he prefers to use mixed media. The content of his works is designed for large formats with the aim of provoking viewers to visually traverse the entire space of the painting and become creative artists during their journey through the scene and for as long as the images remain etched in their retinas. As a result, he creates images with precision, surprising density and a depth that captivates the viewer visually.
