Born in 1951 in Royan, by the ocean, the author grew up in complete freedom, nurturing a thirst for spirituality from an early age. Passionate about wisdom and religion, he explored these themes through his reading, while developing a deep love for painting. Although his engineering studies and professional commitments kept him away from the brush, the call of art remained. At 58, he decided to devote himself to it fully and opened his first studio in 2014 in Aigrefeuille. Other creative spaces followed in Mortagne-sur-Gironde and then in Vallières in 2021. His works, numbered chronologically, bear witness to an inner journey, each painting a fragment of reflection and beneficial energy. Through painting, he crafts a vibrant language between spirituality and artistic expression, offering everyone an open door to emotion and contemplation.
As far as my memory allows, I remember a strong spiritual appetite. A strong spiritual appetite that only grew thereafter. As a result, I devoured numerous books focused on spirituality, wisdom, religion, and also painting. My two passions, spirituality and painting, were born and would stay with me throughout my life.
I made long pilgrimages to India. I stayed in several ashrams. Unable to meet them, I wanted to see and feel the presence of these great sages about whom I had read and meditated extensively. The last pilgrimage was a challenge because not only did I want to reach the sacred places of the Himalayas (Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, etc.), but I also wanted to do it as a humble pilgrim, without any preparation or reservations. Hoping to meet sages, hermits, and yogis. I was fulfilled and returned changed, imbued with the sublime energies of the temples, the Saddhus, and the chants. Like some Americans and Europeans I met there, I could have chosen to stay.
My painting is a spiritual quest and a sharing. It's also an illustration of elements of wisdom and fragments of experience or travel. A mosaic, in short.
