Bernard Pineau

Born in 1951 in Royan, by the ocean, the author grew up in complete freedom, nourishing a thirst for spirituality from an early age. Passionate about wisdom and religions, he explored these themes through his readings, while developing a deep love for painting. Although his engineering studies and professional obligations kept him away from the brush, the call of art remained.

At 58, he decided to devote himself to it fully and opened his first studio in 2014 in Aigrefeuille. Other creative spaces followed in Mortagne-sur-Gironde and then in Vallières in 2021. His works, numbered chronologically, bear witness to an inner journey, each painting being a fragment of reflection and beneficial energy. Through painting, he shapes a vibrant language between spirituality and artistic expression, offering everyone an open door to emotion and contemplation.

This artist's painting is part of an inner quest, at the crossroads of art and the sacred. He explores an intimate sacredness, accessible to all, far removed from dogma and close to consciousness. Inspired by traditions such as Taoism, Buddhism, Alchemy, and Kabbalah, he paints with or without sketches, after a moment of meditation, allowing his consciousness to speak through universal forms and symbols.

Each work is a step on a spiritual path. Numbered in the order of their creation, his paintings form a living narrative. Some can become, for the viewer, triggers of awareness. In India, this is called an Upaguru. The oil paintings on canvas are complemented by preliminary oil studies on paper and glass. Finally, in 2025, the artist created wood sculptures.
